Hoymiles and KOSOL Energie Finalise Record 360 MW Microinverter Deal for India’s Rooftop Solar Market
Jan 28, 2026
Hoymiles Power Electronics and KOSOL Energie have entered into a landmark 360 MW microinverter supply agreement, marking the largest single deployment of microinverter technology in India’s solar sector. The agreement was signed on January 26, 2026, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, with senior leadership from both companies in attendance.
The deal will support large-scale residential rooftop solar installations, primarily under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, and represents a significant shift toward advanced inverter architecture in the Indian market.
According to the companies, the 360 MW capacity represents the largest microinverter order executed in India to date, underscoring KOSOL Energie’s strategy to adopt high-efficiency, safety-focused solar solutions at scale. The use of microinverter-based systems is expected to improve energy generation, enhance system-level monitoring, and deliver long-term operational reliability.
KOSOL Energie has also signed an agreement with the Government of Andhra Pradesh to deploy distributed rooftop solar systems across approximately 1.5 lakh households in the state as part of the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. The microinverters supplied under this agreement will be used for these installations.
Commenting on the development, Kalpesh Kalthia, Chairman and Managing Director of KOSOL Energie, said the agreement represents a major milestone for both the company and India’s solar sector. He noted that adopting microinverter technology at this scale reinforces KOSOL Energie’s focus on safety, efficiency, and long-term system performance, while aligning with the broader goal of accelerating India’s clean energy transition.
Piyush Sharma, Channel Business Director at Hoymiles India, described the agreement as a defining moment for microinverter adoption in the country. He stated that the partnership reflects growing industry confidence in microinverter-based systems for large-scale rooftop applications and will help accelerate the deployment of high-quality residential solar solutions nationwide.
The collaboration builds on Hoymiles’ expanding footprint in India, including completed projects such as a 100 kW rooftop solar installation in Guruvayur, Thrissur, Kerala. Through this partnership, KOSOL Energie aims to combine globally deployed microinverter technology with cost-optimised system design and comprehensive after-sales support, including 24/7 technical assistance and fast resolution timelines, the company said.
