Company inducts 103 electric buses in Delhi and signs 100-bus agreement with Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation under PM e-Bus Sewa
JBM Ecolife, part of JBM Auto, has crossed 3,000 electric buses deployed across India following new fleet additions in New Delhi and Gandhinagar. The company continues to expand its presence in urban public transport through fresh inductions and supply agreements across key cities.
In New Delhi, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated 103 nine-metre low-floor air-conditioned electric buses. These buses have been inducted into the capital’s public transport fleet, taking JBM Ecolife’s operational fleet in Delhi to close to 1,000 electric buses.
Under the Government of India’s PM e-Bus Sewa scheme, JBM Ecolife has signed an agreement with the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation (GMC) to supply 100 electric buses. In the first phase, 40 buses will be delivered by the end of FY25–26. Upon completion of the rollout, the company’s operational fleet in Gujarat is expected to reach close to 500 electric buses.
The Gandhinagar deployment includes fully air-conditioned 25-seater intra-city electric buses equipped with CCTV cameras, automatic doors, and accessibility features for senior citizens and differently abled passengers. The buses will operate on designated routes and will be supported by a depot and charging infrastructure being developed for operations.
Over the last five years, JBM’s electric buses have collectively clocked more than 300 million electric kilometres, transported over 1 billion passengers, and saved more than 1 billion kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions. The buses are manufactured at the company’s integrated electric bus facility, which has an annual production capacity of 20,000 electric buses.
