KEC International Enters Wind Power Segment with First 100 MW BoP Contract in Southern India

Jan 02, 2026

KEC International, the infrastructure engineering and construction arm of the RPG Group, has announced fresh order wins totaling Rs 1,050 crore across multiple business verticals, including renewables, civil construction, power transmission and distribution, and cables.

A key highlight of the order inflow is the company’s first-ever balance of plant (BoP) contract in the wind energy sector, secured for a 100 MW wind power project in Southern India. The project has been awarded by a well-established private developer, marking KEC’s formal entry into wind power execution under its renewables portfolio.

Beyond renewables, KEC has received an order in the Buildings and Factories (B&F) segment from an existing client. The contract involves executing a downstream industrial project in Western India for a leading steel manufacturer.

The company has also strengthened its international order book. Through its global operations, KEC has secured contracts for the supply of transmission towers, hardware, and poles in the Americas, along with orders for various types of cables and conductors in both domestic and overseas markets.

Commenting on the development, Vimal Kejriwal, Managing Director and CEO of KEC International, said the latest wins reflect the company’s growing diversification. He noted that the maiden wind energy order represents a significant step for the renewables business, enabling KEC to participate in one of the fastest-growing segments of the clean energy market.

Kejriwal also highlighted the continued momentum in the company’s civil business, particularly in the B&F segment, and pointed to strong order traction for SAE Towers, KEC’s subsidiary, which has secured sizeable tower supply contracts in Mexico, indicating improving conditions in the North American T&D market.

With these additions, KEC International’s year-to-date order intake has reached approximately Rs 19,300 crore. The company operates across power transmission and distribution, civil infrastructure, railways, urban infrastructure, renewables, oil and gas pipelines, and cables, executing projects in over 30 countries with a supply and EPC footprint spanning more than 110 countries worldwide.
