L&T and Holtec Partner to Advance Nuclear Heat Transfer Technologies

Nov 04, 2025

Larsen & Toubro’s Heavy Engineering division has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Holtec International’s Asia division to jointly develop advanced heat transfer systems for nuclear and thermal power plants. The collaboration aims to enhance efficiency, reliability, and sustainability across global power infrastructure.

This partnership builds upon the companies’ ongoing cooperation in deploying Holtec’s SMR-300 Small Modular Reactors, supported by L&T’s 810 Authorization from the U.S. Department of Energy. By combining L&T’s manufacturing capabilities with Holtec’s engineering expertise, the alliance seeks to deliver next-generation thermal solutions that meet the growing global demand for clean and secure energy.

Anil Parab, Whole-time Director and Senior EVP – Heavy Engineering, CE & IPDD, L&T, said, “Energy security has become a strategic priority in the post-pandemic world. With over 32 countries committed to tripling nuclear capacity, this partnership strengthens our position to drive efficient and sustainable energy systems for India and beyond.”
