Maxvolt Energy Industries Joins Hands with Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee to Build AI-Based Battery Management System

Feb 20, 2026

Maxvolt Energy Industries has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee to collaboratively design and develop an artificial intelligence-enabled Battery Management System (AI-BMS). The initiative is aimed at advancing next-generation energy storage technologies and electric mobility solutions.

According to the company’s regulatory disclosure, the agreement establishes a structured partnership focused on joint research, academic engagement, internships, fellowships, and skill development programs. The collaboration will concentrate on advanced battery technologies, intelligent energy storage systems, and related innovation-driven domains.

Vishal Gupta, Co-Founder and CTO of Maxvolt Energy, stated that the primary objective is to integrate data science, machine learning, and advanced control algorithms to create a smarter BMS platform. The proposed AI-driven system is expected to enhance battery safety, extend operational life, and optimize performance across varied applications.

As part of the collaboration, both institutions will work on AI-powered models for real-time State of Charge (SoC) and State of Health (SoH) estimation, predictive diagnostics for early fault detection, and improved safety mechanisms. The partnership will also focus on optimizing charging cycles, discharging efficiency, and thermal management to increase battery longevity. Additionally, the initiative aims to develop a scalable AI-BMS architecture suitable for electric vehicles, stationary storage systems, and renewable energy integration.

The partnership underscores a broader push toward industry–academia cooperation, deep-tech innovation, and the development of intelligent, domestically engineered battery solutions to support India’s clean energy and sustainable mobility goals.
