EV battery manufacturer Neuron Energy has secured Rs 31 crore in its Pre-Series B funding round, backed by Equanimity Ventures, Rajiv Dadlani Group, Thackersay Family Office, Chona Family Office, and several prominent family offices and HNI investors.

The company plans to use the fresh capital to scale its manufacturing capacity to 3 GWh and establish a fully automated, large-scale production facility for electric four-wheelers and buses in Chakan, Pune. The investment will also enhance Neuron Energy’s R&D capabilities, support domestic expansion, and help grow its international presence, enabling the company to deliver high-performance batteries at scale.

Pratik Kamdar, Co-Founder and CEO of Neuron Energy, said the funding marks a major milestone in the company’s mission to industrialize world-class battery manufacturing in India. As EV adoption accelerates, he emphasized that Neuron is focused on expanding capacity, increasing automation, and improving performance and reliability to meet both domestic and global demand.

Neuron Energy operates with a low-CapEx and low-OpEx model, delivering strong operating leverage. The company has been profitable year-on-year and is on track to achieve Rs 200 crore in revenue this year. It is also aiming for sales exceeding Rs 900 crore in the coming years, supported by improving profitability.

The new manufacturing facility strengthens Neuron’s leadership in the two-wheeler EV battery segment and marks its strategic expansion into heavier vehicle categories. These efforts align with the company’s broader vision of becoming a comprehensive EV battery solutions provider and supporting India’s clean mobility shift.

Rajesh Sehgal of Equanimity Ventures said Neuron Energy’s focus on quality, automation, and energy efficiency positions it well for the evolving EV ecosystem in India and beyond. Rajiv Dadlani added that Neuron’s commitment to producing rigorously tested, safe, and high-quality lithium-ion smart batteries puts the company on a strong trajectory to lead the market.

With the latest funding, Neuron Energy has now raised a total of Rs 80 crore. The company plans to accelerate capacity expansion and deepen partnerships across the EV value chain.
