Reliance to Set Up 1 GW AI Data Centre in Andhra Pradesh, Supported by 6 GWp Solar Power
Nov 20, 2025
Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has unveiled plans to develop a 1 GW artificial intelligence data centre in Andhra Pradesh, marking a significant expansion of its technology footprint in the state. The upcoming facility will mirror RIL’s gigawatt-scale AI data centre in Jamnagar and will become one of Asia’s largest AI computing hubs.
Designed with a modular and future-ready architecture, the data centre will support advanced GPUs, TPUs, and next-generation AI processors. The investment agreement was formalised during the inauguration of the CII Partnership Summit 2025 in Visakhapatnam, in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, IT & Industries Minister Nara Lokesh, and RIL Executive Director P. M. S. Prasad.
AI Access for All via MyJio Platform
RIL emphasized that the initiative aligns with its mission to democratise AI by making powerful AI tools accessible through the MyJio platform. Students, farmers, startups, small businesses, and households will be able to benefit from professional-grade AI capabilities.
To ensure sustainable operations, RIL will also develop a 6 GWp solar power project within Andhra Pradesh exclusively to power the AI data centre.
Part of Broader Investments Across the State
This announcement is part of Reliance’s larger investment programme in the region. The company has already deployed more than USD 25 billion across sectors including oil & gas, telecommunications, and retail. Additionally, RIL revealed plans for a 170-acre greenfield integrated food park in Kurnool, which will produce beverages, packaged drinking water, confectionery, snacks, and atta. The facility is set to create thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities.
RIL will also scale up its integrated compressed biogas (CBG) hubs to boost natural farming, improve soil health, and strengthen rural economies. Its first CBG plant in Prakasam district became operational in April this year.
Government Leaders Welcome Investment
Chief Minister Naidu welcomed the announcement, stating that Andhra Pradesh is entering a new era of technology-driven growth and sustainable development. He said the investments will create high-skilled jobs and accelerate the state’s transition toward a cleaner, more prosperous future.
Highlighting RIL’s commitment, Prasad added, “Reliance is here not just to invest but to build and empower. Together, we aim to create a smarter, greener, and more prosperous Andhra Pradesh for generations to come.”
Minister Lokesh reiterated the state’s commitment to industry-friendly reforms, noting that speed in approvals is now the state’s top priority to help businesses thrive.
