REMCL Awards O&M Contract to POWERCON for 26 MW Wind Project in Rajasthan

Dec 26, 2025

Rail Energy Management Company Limited (REMCL), a Government of India public sector enterprise and a joint venture of the Ministry of Railways and RITES Ltd., has awarded an Operation and Maintenance (O&M) contract to POWERCON for its 26 MW wind power project located at Dangri in Jaisalmer district, Rajasthan.

The O&M contract comes into effect from December 16, 2025. The project comprises 13 wind turbine generators of 2 MW each, supplied by Inox Wind. These turbines have completed their initial 10-year operational period under the original equipment manufacturer and will now be maintained by POWERCON.

Under the contract, POWERCON will be responsible for ensuring improved operational reliability, efficiency, and long-term performance of the wind assets, supporting REMCL’s renewable energy objectives.

Commenting on the association, Praveen Kakulte, Founder and long-term CEO of the POWERCON Group, said the company values the confidence placed in it by a major public sector enterprise. He noted that REMCL expects a marked improvement in the reliability and lifetime performance of the project, and POWERCON fully recognises the responsibility associated with this mandate. Kakulte added that the company’s focus will be on disciplined execution, strong technical governance, and ensuring the turbines operate at optimal performance levels throughout their remaining lifecycle.

The contract further strengthens POWERCON’s presence in the wind O&M segment and supports REMCL’s efforts to maximise renewable energy generation from existing assets.
