SECI and MEA Sign MoU to Equip MEA Buildings Nationwide With Rooftop Solar Under PM Surya Ghar Yojana

Nov 25, 2025

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deploy grid-connected rooftop solar systems across all MEA buildings in India as part of the PM Surya Ghar Yojana.

The agreement was officially signed and exchanged by Anand Prakash, Director (Establishment) at MEA, and Manas Ranjan Mishra, Deputy General Manager (Solar) at SECI, representing their respective institutions.

In a statement shared on social media, SECI noted that the collaboration represents a major milestone in strengthening clean-energy adoption across government infrastructure and contributing to India’s broader solar mission.

This initiative follows a series of recent renewable-energy partnerships led by SECI. Last month, DRDO and SECI signed an MoU to develop 300 MW of solar-based renewable energy projects across DRDO campuses, aiming to establish self-sufficient, Net-Zero facilities at all major DRDO sites by 2027.

Earlier, in August 2025, SECI also partnered with the Renewable Energy Agency Puducherry to equip all government buildings in the Union Territory with rooftop solar systems.
