Senvion India, KP Group Sign Framework to Develop 2 GW of Wind and Hybrid Projects Nationwide

Nov 17, 2025

Senvion India, owned by Global Renewable Energy Development Holding Company Ltd. (GREDHCL)—the investment arm of Alfanar Group in Dubai—has partnered with KP Group entities (KPI Green Energy Ltd., KP Energy Ltd., and KP Green Engineering Ltd.) to jointly build up to 2 GW of wind and wind–solar hybrid projects across various states in India over the next three years.

Under this long-term framework, the companies aim to simplify the project delivery process through a customer-centric, turnkey-style model. The collaboration integrates key stages such as project development, turbine supply, construction, and commissioning to ensure smoother workflows and higher execution accountability.

As per the agreement, KP Group will spearhead site selection, land acquisition, project development, regulatory approvals, and the complete Balance of Plant (BoP) tasks—including civil works, internal road construction, foundations, electrical systems, and grid connectivity. Senvion India will provide wind turbine generators through project-specific supply contracts, with each partner independently fulfilling its defined responsibilities.

Dr. Faruk G. Patel, Founder and CMD of KP Group, noted that the partnership marks a major step toward boosting India’s renewable transition. He highlighted that combining KP Group’s on-ground execution strengths with Senvion’s advanced turbine technologies will help deliver high-quality and financially robust wind and hybrid assets at scale.

Amit Kansal, CEO and MD of Senvion India, added that the agreement aims to make project execution more predictable by aligning both firms’ strengths—KP Group’s development capabilities and Senvion’s India-built turbine platforms—into a cohesive, streamlined offering.

Jamal Wadi, Chairman of Senvion, emphasised that the collaboration aligns closely with India’s renewable energy aspirations. He said that leveraging complementary competencies will enable the two organisations to deliver technically strong projects with lasting sustainable impact, strengthening the clean energy ecosystem and creating long-term value for stakeholders.
