Jan 07, 2026
Simple Energy, a Bengaluru-based electric vehicle manufacturer, has launched its Gen 2 electric scooter portfolio in India, comprising the Simple One, Simple OneS, and the newly introduced Simple Ultra.
The company stated that the updated lineup brings significant improvements in range, performance, and connected features across variants.
According to Simple Energy, the Simple Ultra sets a new benchmark in the Indian electric two-wheeler market with an IDC-certified range of 400 km, making it the longest-range electric scooter currently available in the country.
Powered by a 6.5 kWh battery, the model also delivers strong performance, with a top speed of 115 kmph and acceleration from 0 to 40 kmph in 2.77 seconds, positioning it among the fastest electric scooters in India.
The Gen 2 Simple One is offered in two battery configurations, including a 4.5 kWh variant with an IDC range of 236 km priced at Rs 1,69,999, and a 5 kWh version offering a 265 km IDC range at Rs 1,77,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru).
The Simple OneS Gen 2 features a 3.7 kWh battery with an improved IDC range of 190 km and is priced at Rs 1,49,999.
The company has also announced a limited-time introductory offer, with prices starting at Rs 1,39,999.
Built on Simple Energy’s in-house vehicle architecture, the Gen 2 scooters feature reduced kerb weight, enhanced underseat storage, upgraded rider ergonomics, and improved overall performance.
The Simple One Gen 2 introduces advanced features such as traction control, four levels of regenerative braking, cruise control, and six riding modes, while the Simple OneS Gen 2 focuses on improved braking performance and range efficiency.
Both models support home charging through a portable 750 W charger and are equipped with connected dashboards offering LTE and Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, over-the-air software updates, and safety features such as Find My Vehicle and tyre pressure monitoring systems.
Commenting on the launch, Suhas Rajkumar, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Simple Energy, said the Gen 2 portfolio reflects the company’s innovation-driven approach to addressing diverse range and performance requirements.
He noted that the Simple Ultra’s 400 km IDC range sets a new industry benchmark and is aimed at delivering confidence and reduced range anxiety for electric scooter users.
Simple Energy continues to expand its presence across India, with plans to establish 150 dealerships and 200 service centres by March 2026.
The company is preparing for a potential initial public offering in FY27, targeting a fundraise of around $350 million, and is aiming to achieve EBITDA positivity before the end of FY26.
To date, Simple Energy has raised $51 million from investors, including family offices and other strategic backers.
The Gen 2 scooters are currently available across more than 61 showrooms nationwide in cities such as Bengaluru, Pune, Goa, Hyderabad, Jaipur, and Kochi, and can also be purchased online through platforms including Amazon and Flipkart.
The Simple Ultra is available for pre-booking.
