Suzlon Secures 306 MW Wind Orders from Yanara for Rajasthan Projects
Dec 17, 2025
Suzlon Group and Yanara have strengthened their long-standing collaboration with the award of 306 MW of new wind turbine orders in Rajasthan. The contracts, split into two 153 MW projects, will support Yanara’s Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) developments in Barmer, further reinforcing Suzlon’s leadership in the state’s wind energy market.
The latest agreements add to Suzlon’s dominant presence in Rajasthan, where the company has installed more than 2.3 GW of wind capacity and holds around 44 percent of the state’s total wind installations. In addition to the new orders, Suzlon is currently executing other engineering, procurement, and construction projects in Rajasthan with a combined capacity of 791 MW.
For Yanara’s two FDRE projects in Barmer—together accounting for nearly 800 MWp of hybrid renewable capacity—Suzlon will supply and install 102 S144 wind turbine generators. Each turbine, rated at 3 MW and mounted on hybrid lattice towers, is designed to deliver reliable performance under challenging climatic conditions. The power generated will help Yanara meet its power purchase agreement commitments with utilities such as NTPC and NHPC.
Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of the Suzlon Group, said the collaboration reflects how strong partnerships can accelerate India’s clean energy transition. He noted that Suzlon’s three decades of experience in wind energy, combined with Yanara’s focus on hybrid renewable projects across the Asia-Pacific region, has resulted in repeat orders that underscore customer confidence in Suzlon’s technology and execution capabilities.
Yanara is developing a grid-scale portfolio of hybrid renewable projects integrating wind, solar, and energy storage to deliver round-the-clock clean power. The Rajasthan projects follow closely on the company’s 115 MW co-located solar-wind hybrid project in Maharashtra, which is nearing completion and includes a 29.4 MW wind order from Suzlon. These initiatives support India’s target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.
JP Chalasani, Chief Executive Officer of the Suzlon Group, said Suzlon’s indigenous, Made-in-India wind turbine technology is engineered to maximise lifecycle energy output while meeting stringent grid standards. He added that the reliability of Suzlon’s turbines in high-temperature environments such as Rajasthan has been a key factor in sustaining the company’s market leadership and long-term partnerships.
Jerome Ortiz, Chief Executive Officer of Yanara, said the company’s multi-technology renewable portfolio requires partners capable of delivering at scale. He described Suzlon as a trusted collaborator and said the partnership would help accelerate Yanara’s efforts to advance clean energy development across India and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
Naveen Khandelwal, Chief Executive Officer, India, Yanara, added that Rajasthan remains a priority market due to its strong renewable resource potential and supportive policy framework. He said the continued collaboration with Suzlon reflects Yanara’s commitment to building a reliable, multi-gigawatt clean energy portfolio that delivers sustainable value to communities and customers.
