Suzlon Seeks Extension for Gujarat’s 200 MW Wind Power Project Due to Force Majeure Delays
Jan 15, 2025
Suzlon Global Services Ltd. sought the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission’s approval to extend the scheduled commercial operation date (SCOD) for a 200 MW wind power project in Jamjodhpur. The extension was requested to address delays caused by force majeure events, impacting the infrastructure required to evacuate power to GETCO's 220 kV Kalawad substation.
During the hearing on December 18, 2024, Suzlon cited unforeseen challenges making the stipulated timeline unachievable. GETCO confirmed no objections to admitting the petition but sought time to respond. The Commission admitted the petition, directed procedural compliance, and scheduled the next hearing for February 5, 2025.
