The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ECOFUEL EV Charging Technologies to jointly advance electric mobility solutions and expand renewable-energy-driven EV charging infrastructure across India.

The agreement outlines collaborative efforts on technical research, pilot projects, and other initiatives aimed at accelerating the development of India’s clean mobility ecosystem. The MoU was signed by TERI Director General Dr. Vibha Dhawan and Ecofuel CEO Manoj Gupta.

During the signing ceremony, Dr. Dhawan emphasized that transforming the transport sector is essential for India to meet its net-zero goals. Citing insights from TERI’s Centre of Excellence for Green Ports and Shipping, she noted that “a port cannot be considered green if the vehicles serving it are not,” highlighting the importance of decarbonizing logistics fleets through cleaner fuel options and sustainable mobility systems.

Gupta echoed this vision, stating that the energy transition is not limited to the adoption of electric vehicles. “We are, in essence, rebuilding India’s infrastructure, its people, its technology, and its culture,” he said. He added that the transition is not only about modernizing transport systems but also about improving the passenger experience and enabling society to embrace long-term change.
