ThunderPlus and BijliRide Partner to Accelerate EV Adoption and Address Range Anxiety
Oct 27, 2025
ThunderPlus and BijliRide have entered into a strategic partnership to advance India’s electric mobility ecosystem by enhancing accessibility, convenience, and reliability for EV users. The collaboration aims to tackle range and charging anxiety among daily commuters and gig-economy workers through the integration of battery-swapping and fast-charging solutions across the ThunderPlus network.
As part of the agreement, all 250-plus ThunderPlus hubs nationwide will now feature BijliRide’s battery-swapping machines, enabling both individual users and gig workers to replace discharged batteries within minutes. This initiative significantly reduces downtime, ensuring seamless and efficient travel for electric vehicle users.
Additionally, ThunderPlus has launched its flagship “Thunder Tej” 12 kW LEVDC fast charger for two- and three-wheelers under the “Chai Pe Charge” campaign. The charger allows electric two-wheelers to reach up to 80% charge in just 10 minutes, offering enhanced convenience for riders and delivery partners. Rajeev YSR, CEO of ThunderPlus, highlighted that collaboration over competition remains at the core of the company’s mission to strengthen India’s EV infrastructure. He added that this partnership transforms ThunderPlus hubs into multi-functional mobility centers providing both fast-charging and battery-swapping facilities to support India’s expanding clean mobility network.
Hyderabad, BijliRide’s launch city, continues to lead India’s electric mobility revolution. With its diverse mix of students, professionals, and gig workers, the city provides an ideal testing ground for BijliRide’s hub-and-spoke (STAR) expansion model. Shivam Sisodiya, CEO and Co-Founder of BijliRide, emphasized that the partnership is designed to make sustainable transportation more accessible by establishing integrated pickup and drop-off points that offer charging, swapping, and maintenance services under one umbrella.
The collaboration ensures that every EV user in Hyderabad is within minutes of a service point, improving accessibility and minimizing downtime. Rajeev YSR further noted that the ThunderPlus–BijliRide alliance redefines the EV experience by building an interconnected network where users can charge, ride, and return their vehicles effortlessly. Following the success in Hyderabad, BijliRide plans to replicate this model in other major Indian cities including Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru through similar strategic collaborations. Its 24/7 flagship operational hub in Madhapur, Hyderabad, will serve as the cornerstone for this nationwide rollout.
Together, ThunderPlus and BijliRide are laying the foundation for a unified, future-ready EV ecosystem that fosters clean, connected, and efficient mobility for millions of users across India.
