Feb 24, 2026
The company will supply 195 SG 3.6-145 wind turbines for projects spread across Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu, further expanding its portfolio beyond 2 GW. Vayona Energy has entered into a definitive agreement with Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL) for the supply of wind turbines with a cumulative capacity of 702 MW. The order marks a major addition to the company’s growing order book.
As part of the contract, Vayona Energy will deliver 195 SG 3.6-145 wind turbines to project sites located in Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu. With this deal, the company stated that its total portfolio has now surpassed the 2 GW milestone.
Prashant Jain, Executive Vice Chairman of Vayona Energy, described the agreement as a significant step forward in the company’s expansion strategy in India. He expressed appreciation for TPREL’s continued confidence and highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration to drive sustainable growth.
Pritesh Vinay, Chief Executive Officer of Vayona Energy, noted that the company is scaling up its manufacturing capabilities to cater to rising market demand, while reinforcing its commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative. He added that with over 3.6 GW in orders and more than 2 GW installed as of December 2025, the company’s 3X platform has gained strong recognition in the Indian market for its technological reliability and performance.
Vayona Energy was established following the acquisition of Siemens Gamesa’s onshore wind operations in India and Sri Lanka by TPG and MAVCO, a private entity backed by select members of the Murugappa family. The newly independent entity was subsequently rebranded under its current name.
In a separate development last week, the company signed an agreement with Oyster Renewable Energy to supply wind turbines totalling 64.8 MW for a project in Andhra Pradesh.
