Volvo Car India has partnered with ChargeZone to inaugurate a 360 kW ultra-fast electric vehicle charging station along the Mumbai–Nashik Highway. Located at Food Hills near Igatpuri, the new facility is positioned on one of Maharashtra’s busiest intercity routes, strengthening long-distance EV travel infrastructure in the region.

The charging hub is equipped with a 360 kW Star Charge power unit integrated with two dispensers featuring dynamic load balancing technology. This intelligent setup enables efficient power allocation between vehicles, helping reduce wait times and deliver faster real-world charging performance. The station also includes dedicated charging bays for Volvo EV owners and offers app-enabled navigation and payment features for a seamless user experience.

Speaking at the inauguration, Jyoti Malhotra, Managing Director of Volvo Car India, emphasised the brand’s commitment to advancing sustainable mobility through dependable charging infrastructure. She noted that the new station represents the first step toward building a premium, nationwide supercharging network to complement Volvo’s electric vehicle portfolio.

Kartikey Hariyani, Founder and CEO of ChargeZone, described the launch as a key milestone in developing a high-speed, technology-driven charging ecosystem. He highlighted the importance of intelligent power management systems in ensuring reliable, predictable, and convenient long-distance EV journeys as adoption continues to rise.

The installation builds on the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two companies in 2025 to expand high-speed EV charging across major national highways. Additional stations are planned for rollout in 2026, reinforcing efforts to enhance charging accessibility and support India’s broader transition toward cleaner mobility solutions.
