Yuma Energy and e-Sprinto Join Hands to Roll Out Swappable-Battery EV Fleets Across India
Jan 16, 2026
Yuma Energy has entered into a strategic partnership with electric two-wheeler manufacturer e-Sprinto to deploy swappable-battery electric scooters at scale across India, with a focus on accelerating fleet electrification in urban markets.
The collaboration combines e-Sprinto’s fleet-focused electric two-wheelers with Yuma Energy’s growing Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) and battery-swapping infrastructure, addressing two key barriers to electric vehicle adoption for fleet operators—high upfront vehicle costs and charging-related downtime.
Battery packs typically account for nearly 40% of an electric vehicle’s total cost, making large-scale deployment capital-intensive for commercial fleets.
Under Yuma Energy’s BaaS model, the battery is separated from the vehicle, allowing operators to pay only for the energy consumed.
This structure significantly lowers initial capital expenditure, shifts costs to a predictable operating expense, and enables quicker and more flexible fleet expansion.
Commenting on the partnership, Deepak Nanwani, Head of Revenue and Operations at Yuma Energy, said the collaboration removes both cost and convenience hurdles for fleet operators by combining reliable electric vehicles with a widespread battery-swapping ecosystem.
Yuma Energy currently operates over 2,000 battery-swapping stations across more than 400 locations in 17 cities, with further expansion underway.
The network allows riders to exchange depleted batteries for fully charged ones in less than two minutes, helping fleets minimize downtime and improve productivity.
Muthu Subramanian, General Manager and Managing Director of Yuma Energy, stated that the partnership strengthens the company’s portfolio of OEM platforms supported by its BaaS network, delivering a seamless and scalable experience for customers.
e-Sprinto’s electric two-wheelers are designed specifically for Indian road conditions and high-usage fleet applications, offering extended range, low maintenance requirements, and integrated IoT features.
The vehicles are tailored for delivery services and gig-economy riders operating in demanding urban environments.
Shalu Gupta, Co-Founder and Director of e-Sprinto, said the partnership represents a key milestone in the company’s efforts to make electric mobility more accessible and commercially viable for large fleet operators.
By integrating fleet-ready vehicles with a robust battery-swapping network, the collaboration aims to enable faster fleet scaling while supporting India’s transition toward cleaner and more sustainable urban mobility.
