ACME Solar Signs 450 MW Peak Power PPAs with SJVN Backed by 1,800 MWh Storage
Mar 12, 2026
ACME Solar Holdings has entered into two power purchase agreements (PPAs) with SJVN for a combined capacity of 450 MW supported by 1,800 MWh of energy storage, strengthening its presence in India’s growing dispatchable renewable energy segment.
The agreements have been executed through the company’s subsidiary, ACME Greentech Seventh Pvt. Ltd., with a contract tenure of 25 years. The projects were awarded under the Tranche-FDRE-4 tender conducted through Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) guidelines. The e-reverse auction for the tender was held on October 9, 2025, followed by the issuance of the letter of award on November 10, 2025.
Under the terms of the agreement, ACME Solar will supply four hours of assured peak power during non-solar hours, maintaining 90 percent availability on both monthly and annual bases. The projects will be connected to the interstate transmission system (ISTS) substations and will utilise night-time grid connectivity available to the company in high solar irradiation regions of Rajasthan.
With the signing of these agreements, ACME Solar has secured 1,690 MW of PPAs during the current financial year, taking the company’s total PPA-signed capacity to 6,270 MW. The development reflects the increasing focus on firm and dispatchable renewable energy solutions, which combine solar power with energy storage to ensure reliable electricity supply during peak demand periods.
The project is expected to play a key role in supporting India’s evolving energy transition, where hybrid renewable energy and storage-backed solutions are becoming essential to maintain grid stability while expanding clean power capacity.
