Adani Green Energy Commissions 200 MW Solar Capacity at Khavda, Gujarat
Dec 01, 2025
Adani Green Energy Ltd. (AGEL) has brought 200 MW of solar capacity online at the Khavda Renewable Energy Park in Gujarat. The projects were commissioned through its subsidiaries—Adani Renewable Energy Fifty Six, which activated 75 MW, and Adani Renewable Energy Fifty Seven, which added 125 MW.
The company confirmed in a regulatory filing that the operationalisation decision was taken at 10:34 p.m. on November 30, 2025, following the required clearances. Power generation began on December 1, 2025. With this addition, AGEL’s total operational renewable capacity has now reached 16,929.8 MW.
AGEL is currently developing the world’s largest renewable energy installation—a 30 GW project spread across 538 sq. km of barren land in Khavda, Kutch. The massive site, five times the size of Paris, will be visible from space when fully developed. Once completed, it will be the largest power plant globally across all energy categories.
Earlier in May 2025, AGEL signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd. (UPPCL) for supplying 400 MW of solar power at Rs2.57/unit from an upcoming project in Rajasthan. In April 2025, its subsidiary Adani Hydro Energy Five secured another PPA with UPPCL for 1,250 MW of pumped hydro energy storage capacity.
AGEL operates utility-scale solar, wind, hybrid, and hydro-pumped storage plants across 12 Indian states and registered a 30% year-on-year growth in operational capacity in FY25. The company aims to scale its renewable portfolio to 50 GW by 2030 through investments of around USD 21 billion, including over 5 GW of pumped storage projects. AGEL is also expanding into commercial, industrial, and merchant power segments, supported by a USD 3.4 billion revolving construction facility.
