Bondada Engineering Wins Rs 627-Crore Contract for 225 MW/450 MWh Standalone BESS in Andhra Pradesh
Jan 06, 2026
Bondada Engineering has secured a Letter of Award (LoA) valued at approximately Rs627 crore from the Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (AP TRANSCO) for the development of a 225 MW/450 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project at Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh.
The project will be implemented under the Build–Own–Operate (BOO) model and is scheduled to be commissioned within 18 months from the date of receiving the LoA, according to the company’s regulatory disclosure.
Bondada Engineering emerged as a successful bidder in AP TRANSCO’s BESS auction conducted in November 2025, which aimed to award 1,000 MW/2,000 MWh of standalone battery storage capacity across seven AP TRANSCO substations. The company secured the Hindupur capacity at a tariff of Rs1.64 lakh per MW per month.
Following this latest award, Bondada Engineering’s cumulative battery energy storage portfolio has reached close to 1 GWh, further strengthening its position in India’s growing energy storage segment.
The company stated that the project is expected to be executed within the stipulated timeline and will begin contributing to revenues after the construction phase. Once operational, the BESS facility is expected to generate stable, long-term annuity-based income, improving earnings visibility and enhancing overall shareholder value.
