Ceigall India Wins 220 MW Solar-Plus-Storage Project at Morena Solar Park
Feb 10, 2026
Ceigall India has secured a Letter of Award from Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd (RUMSL) for the development of a 220 MW solar power project integrated with battery energy storage at the Morena Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh.
The project, awarded on February 9, 2026 through a tariff-based competitive bidding process, involves Unit 1 of the solar park and combines 220 MW of solar generation with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). Ceigall India quoted a tariff of Rs 2.70 per kWh, with the total project value estimated at around Rs 1,700 crore, inclusive of GST.
Under the contract, the construction phase will span 24 months, followed by an operational period of 25 years. The project is expected to add to Madhya Pradesh’s renewable energy capacity while supporting India’s broader transition toward clean and reliable power.
Morena Solar Park is among the state’s key renewable energy initiatives and has been designed to strengthen grid stability through the integration of energy storage. The inclusion of BESS alongside solar generation will enable improved peak load management and more dependable power dispatch.
Commenting on the award, Ramneek Sehgal, Chairman and Managing Director of Ceigall India, said the project underscores the growing importance of integrated solar and storage solutions as India moves toward its 500 GW non-fossil capacity target. He added that the project enhances the company’s footprint in the clean energy sector and reflects its commitment to efficient execution while contributing to national decarbonisation goals.
The contract further bolsters Ceigall India’s order book and marks a strategic step in its expansion into large-scale renewable energy infrastructure, aligning with the company’s long-term vision of supporting nation-building initiatives across transportation and energy sectors.
