Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) Invites Bids for 234 MW Floating Solar Project at Maithon Dam
May 09, 2025
Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has floated a tender for developing 234 MW of floating solar projects on the Maithon Dam reservoir in Jharkhand. Bids must be submitted and will be opened on the same day—July 16, 2025. The project includes full EPC responsibilities, from design and procurement to construction, testing, commissioning, and 10 years of comprehensive O&M.
Bidders must deposit Rs10.2 crore as earnest money and provide module insurance worth 6% of the module order value for 25 years. The minimum project size per bidder is 59.5 MW, and the solar plant must achieve a capital utilization factor of at least 24.42% with a 25-year design life.
All modules must be sourced from MNRE’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM), with flexibility for suppliers to be listed by the bid deadline or within four months of the award. The floating solar system suppliers must have prior experience delivering at least 5 MW of floaters at a single site, and anchoring/mooring system providers must show experience with 20 MW systems.
This follows DVC’s prior tenders for floating solar in Jharkhand, including a 10 MW project in October and another 234 MW tender in December 2024, signaling strong momentum in floating solar expansion.
