ENGIE and Meta Expand Clean Energy Partnership with 600 MW Solar Project in Texas

Oct 30, 2025

ENGIE North America has strengthened its clean energy collaboration with Meta through new Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), taking their total partnership capacity to over 1.3 GW across four renewable projects in Texas. The latest addition includes the 600 MW Swenson Ranch Solar Project, located in Stonewall County, southeast of Lubbock.

According to ENGIE, the Swenson Ranch project will become the company’s largest single solar asset within its North American portfolio, which already includes more than 11 GW of operating and under-construction solar, wind, and battery storage facilities. The project is slated to begin operations in 2027, with Meta set to purchase 100% of its output to power its U.S. data centers.

“Expanding our partnership with Meta underscores our shared commitment to accelerating clean energy deployment,” said Dave Carroll, CEO and Chief Renewables Officer at ENGIE North America. “Projects like Swenson highlight the critical role of solar in delivering reliable and cost-effective power to meet the growing energy needs of our customers.”

The $900 million Swenson Ranch development will create employment for more than 350 skilled workers during construction and is projected to generate $158 million in tax revenue for the county and local hospital district over its lifetime.

Urvi Parekh, Head of Global Energy at Meta, added, “We’re excited to bring an additional 600 MW of solar capacity to the grid through our continued partnership with ENGIE. This collaboration helps us sustain our goal of matching 100% of our electricity use with renewable energy to support our data center operations.”
