GREW Solar Accelerates India’s Utility-Scale Solar Growth with G12R High-Power Series Launch
Oct 30, 2025
GREW Solar has unveiled its G12R High-Power Series ahead of the REI Expo 2025, marking another major step in India’s drive toward its 500 GW renewable energy capacity target by 2030. The new series reinforces the company’s mission to strengthen India’s position as a global solar manufacturing hub.
Engineered for utility-scale applications, the G12R High-Power Series delivers up to 635 Wp of power. The modules are designed to reduce the total module count by 6–8% per MW, effectively lowering Balance of System (BOS) costs while enhancing logistics efficiency and installation timelines.
With an optimized cell layout and improved mechanical strength, the modules offer 6–7% higher container power density and 1.5–3% more power per cubic meter compared to standard TOPCon modules — a leap in both performance and scalability.
Commenting on the development, Dr. Mohammad Rihan, Director General of the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), said:
“It is encouraging to see companies like GREW Solar advancing India’s renewable vision with innovation and quality. The G12R High-Power Series reflects how Indian manufacturers are evolving from capacity expansion to technological leadership. Such initiatives are vital to achieving India’s 2047 energy independence goals while fortifying domestic solar manufacturing.”
With an existing 6.5 GW PV module facility in Dudu (Jaipur), GREW Solar is now expanding its manufacturing capacity to 11.0 GW, alongside establishing an 8.0 GW PV cell facility in Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh.
Vinay Thadani, CEO and Director of GREW Solar, stated:
“The G12R High-Power Series is tailored to address the specific needs of large-scale developers while supporting India’s clean energy ambitions. As the country progresses toward 500 GW of renewables by 2030 and energy independence by 2047, we’re building a manufacturing ecosystem grounded in scale, efficiency, and reliability.”
Backed by a recent Rs300 crore fundraise, GREW Solar is accelerating its capacity expansion, R&D, and innovation roadmap, with completion targeted by 2026.
Hardip Singh, COO of GREW Solar, added:
“At GREW Solar, we prioritize operational excellence and disciplined execution. The G12R High-Power Series is a result of deep collaboration across our R&D, engineering, and manufacturing teams — focused on delivering superior performance and long-term reliability. As we scale up both cell and module production, our aim is to boost efficiency across every stage of manufacturing while contributing significantly to India’s renewable energy ecosystem.”
