Hartek Power Secures Rs 354 Crore Solar-Plus-Storage EPC Contract in Karnataka
Jan 09, 2026
Hartek Power has won a major renewable energy Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract in Karnataka, reinforcing its growing presence in India’s utility-scale solar and energy storage market.
The company has been awarded the EPC scope for a 280 MW AC (410 MWp DC) solar photovoltaic project integrated with an 80 MW / 320 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) at Challakere, Karnataka. The total value of the signed and agreed scope of work stands at approximately Rs 353.77 crore.
Under the terms of the contract, Hartek Power will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of the project, including design, engineering, equipment supply, installation, testing, and commissioning. The scope also includes one year of operations and maintenance (O&M) services following project completion.
Commenting on the development, Simarpreet Singh, Executive Director and CEO of Hartek Group, said the project reflects the evolving nature of India’s renewable energy sector, where solar power generation and energy storage are increasingly being deployed as integrated solutions. He added that the project strengthens Hartek Power’s position in the utility-scale solar segment while marking a key milestone in the company’s expansion into battery energy storage systems.
The award comes amid India’s growing focus on combining large-scale renewable generation with energy storage to enhance grid stability and power reliability. Battery energy storage systems are playing an increasingly vital role in managing the intermittency of solar power and supporting round-the-clock energy supply.
Challakere has been emerging as an important renewable energy hub, and the new project is expected to further bolster Karnataka’s clean energy capacity while supporting the state’s long-term renewable energy goals.
