ICON Solaren Partners with RenewSys for 300 MW POE Encapsulant Procurement

Dec 15, 2025

ICON Solaren Power Technologies has entered into a supply agreement with RenewSys India for the procurement of 300 MW of high-performance encapsulant materials, supporting large-scale solar module manufacturing scheduled between January and April 2026.

As part of the arrangement, RenewSys will provide its latest-generation Polyolefin Elastomer (POE) encapsulants, developed to deliver enhanced durability, strong resistance to potential-induced degradation (PID), and reliable long-term performance in field conditions. These attributes are increasingly critical for the production of next-generation, high-efficiency solar modules. The encapsulants will be manufactured at RenewSys’s advanced production facilities, reflecting the company’s continued investment in technology, capacity expansion, and quality assurance.

The partnership aligns with India’s renewable energy ambitions, including the national target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030, which places strong emphasis on the development of robust domestic manufacturing capabilities. Collaborations such as this demonstrate how Indian companies are scaling innovation to meet rising demand for globally competitive solar components.

Commenting on the agreement, Shakti Dubey, Director, ICON Solaren, said that product quality and performance remain central to the company’s manufacturing philosophy, and that working with RenewSys allows ICON Solaren to incorporate dependable, high-quality materials while reinforcing its commitment to excellence.

Avinash Hiranandani, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, RenewSys India, described the collaboration as a significant milestone for India’s solar manufacturing ecosystem. He noted that supplying 300 MW of indigenously developed POE encapsulants supports the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative and strengthens a self-reliant solar value chain compliant with Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) norms across key national solar programmes.

The agreement marks an important step toward strengthening India’s domestic solar supply chain. By sourcing encapsulants locally for its upcoming module lines, ICON Solaren underscores the industry’s broader move to reduce import dependence and build a resilient, future-ready manufacturing ecosystem.
