Organic Recycling Systems Ltd. (ORSL) has formalised its empanelment as an execution partner with Indraprastha Gas Ltd. (IGL) for the joint development and implementation of Compressed Biogas (CBG) projects across India.

The collaboration was marked by the exchange of a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during India Energy Week (IEW) 2026, held in Goa on January 28, 2026. The MoU exchange ceremony took place in the presence of Praveen Mal Khanooja, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG), Kamal Kishore Chatiwal, Managing Director of IGL, Mohit Bhatia, Director (Commercial) at IGL, along with senior executives, industry delegates, and representatives from public sector undertakings and national oil companies.

The empanelment establishes a structured framework under which ORSL will collaborate with IGL to originate, design, and execute CBG projects across multiple regions. According to the company, the partnership is expected to significantly enhance ORSL’s national project pipeline and accelerate the rollout of projects using a variety of feedstocks.

Commenting on the development, Sarang Bhand, Managing Director of ORSL, said the partnership with IGL provides a strong platform to scale operations nationwide. He noted that collaboration with a leading public sector utility will support sustained revenue growth while strengthening ORSL’s long-term presence in the Bio-CNG segment.

Pankaj Tanwar, CEO – Bioenergy at ORSL, described the empanelment as a key milestone in the company’s execution strategy. He stated that the agreement enables ORSL to advance projects using diverse feedstocks such as Napier grass, paddy straw, and the organic fraction of municipal solid waste (OFMSW), while enhancing its ability to deliver large-scale bioenergy projects efficiently.

ORSL is currently engaging with project sponsors and stakeholders to move forward with several near-term opportunities. The company said project selection is being prioritised based on commercial and execution parameters, including feedstock availability, land access, infrastructure readiness, and overall project viability, with the aim of accelerating projects from development to commissioning.
