InSolare Energy Wins 600 MW/1,200 MWh Battery Storage Project from SECI
Oct 31, 2025
InSolare Energy has secured a landmark 600 MW/1,200 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). The project, to be developed at Kolimigundla in Andhra Pradesh’s Nandiyal District, is among the largest standalone BESS tenders awarded by SECI to date.
In a company statement, InSolare highlighted that this milestone reinforces its position as a leading clean energy infrastructure developer, expanding its portfolio beyond solar EPC into advanced energy storage, module manufacturing, green hydrogen, and green ammonia.
The project will be connected to the Kurnool-3 substation of the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) network and will encompass design, engineering, civil construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and five years of comprehensive operations and maintenance (O&M).
Dr. Sunit Tyagi, Chairman and Managing Director of InSolare Energy, commented,
“Our commitment to addressing climate change continues to guide our innovation journey. This BESS project marks another engineering milestone that will make India’s clean energy more dependable, dispatchable, and scalable. As we advance in the storage domain, we’re ensuring that sustainability and reliability evolve hand in hand.”
As renewable energy penetration deepens across India, large-scale energy storage has become essential for balancing supply and demand, minimising curtailment, and enhancing grid stability. SECI’s decision to award this project to InSolare reflects the company’s technical expertise, executional excellence, and alignment with India’s national energy security goals.
With a solar EPC portfolio exceeding 1 GW across 22 states, InSolare’s recent expansion into TOPCon module manufacturing, electrolyser technologies, and green hydrogen positions it as a comprehensive energy infrastructure provider capable of delivering integrated, end-to-end clean energy solutions.
Looking forward, the company envisions an energy ecosystem that is locally manufactured, globally benchmarked, and digitally managed, integrating AI-driven forecasting, storage analytics, and sustainable construction practices to shape the future of India’s renewable energy landscape.
