New mono PERC facility in Baddi increases total installed capacity to nearly 2 GW; 1.25 GW TOPCon line under development

Jupiter International has commissioned its third solar cell manufacturing unit in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, adding 1 GW of mono PERC capacity. With this addition, the company’s total installed solar cell manufacturing capacity has increased from 959 MW to nearly 2 GW.

The new facility has been developed by Jupiter Solartech, a wholly owned subsidiary of Jupiter International. Located in Village Katha, Baddi, District Solan, the unit is focused on high-efficiency mono PERC technology, according to the company.

Alok Garodia, Chairman and Managing Director of Jupiter International, stated that the commissioning of Unit III at Baddi expands the company’s solar manufacturing capabilities and supports its focus on clean energy technologies manufactured in India.

The company said the capacity expansion is expected to double its local workforce, creating additional employment opportunities in solar manufacturing operations.

In addition to the newly commissioned unit, Jupiter International is also developing a 1.25 GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing line as part of its expansion roadmap.
