NTPC and Africa50 Explore Collaboration for Power Projects Across Africa

Mar 23, 2026

NTPC Limited has initiated discussions with Africa50 to explore joint opportunities in developing power infrastructure across Africa, signalling a push toward deeper international energy partnerships.

The talks between Gurdeep Singh and Alain Ebobisse focused on the potential co-development of projects spanning multiple energy sources, including coal, gas, solar, wind, and floating solar. The discussions reflect a broad-based approach aimed at supporting diverse energy needs across the continent.

Both sides also examined possibilities for enabling power trading across African markets and explored the scope for a wider framework agreement covering multiple aspects of cooperation in the energy sector.

The engagement follows a separate meeting chaired by Manohar Lal Khattar, which emphasised strengthening energy ties between India and African nations.

The discussions took place on the sidelines of the Bharat Electricity Summit 2026, hosted at Yashobhoomi under the aegis of the Ministry of Power.

NTPC stated that the initiative aligns with its broader strategy to expand its global footprint and contribute to energy development in emerging markets through strategic collaborations.
