NTPC and Octopus Energy Partner to Explore Opportunities Across Global Power and Clean Energy Markets
Mar 20, 2026
NTPC has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with UK-based Octopus Energy Group to explore strategic collaboration across multiple segments of the power and energy sector.
The agreement was formalised on the sidelines of the Bharat Electricity Summit 2026, held from March 19 to 22. It was signed by Dr. Jatinder Singh Chandok, Head of International Business Development at NTPC, and Chris Fitzgerald, Group Director of International Affairs at Octopus Energy, in the presence of senior officials from India’s Ministry of Power and leadership from both organisations.
The MoU outlines a non-binding framework aimed at identifying and developing opportunities in key areas such as power distribution and retail, renewable energy and storage, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and digital energy solutions. It also includes collaboration in innovation, research and development, and capacity-building initiatives.
Through this partnership, both companies will assess opportunities not only in India and the United Kingdom but also in other selected international markets. The collaboration is expected to focus on improving efficiency, affordability, and reliability in energy systems while accelerating the adoption of clean energy solutions.
