NTPC Green Energy Adds 165 MW at 1,200 MW Khavda-II Solar Project in Gujarat

Feb 20, 2026

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has operationalised an additional 165 MW under the second phase of its 1,200 MW Khavda-II Solar PV project in Gujarat. With this latest commissioning, the project’s cumulative operational capacity has reached 375 MW.

The first phase of 210 MW had already been brought online in January 2026. Following this expansion, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Group has climbed to 8,992.68 MW, according to a regulatory disclosure by the company.

The commissioning forms part of NTPC Green Energy’s broader renewable energy expansion across key states. Earlier in February, the company added 125 MW at its Bhadla Solar PV Project in Rajasthan, increasing that facility’s total operational capacity to 425 MW. In the previous month, NGEL had also energised 130.47 MW at the Khavda-I Solar Project in Gujarat.

In December 2025, the broader NTPC Group commissioned around 404.68 MW across Rajasthan and Gujarat. This included nearly 78 MW at the Nokh Solar PV Project in Rajasthan, while NTPC Renewable Energy operationalised 326.68 MW under the 1,255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project in Gujarat.

Looking ahead, NTPC aims to scale up its renewable energy portfolio to 60 GW by 2032, which is expected to account for about 45 percent of its total installed power generation capacity.
