Pace Digitek Wins Rs 17,750 Million Solar-Plus-Storage Contract from KREDL at Pavagada
Feb 13, 2026
Pace Digitek Ltd. has been awarded a Rs17,750 million contract by Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) to develop a 250 MW solar power project integrated with a 1.1 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at the Pavagada Solar Park.
The company has received a Letter of Award (LoA) for the project, which will be executed at Ryapte village within the solar park. Following this development, Pace Digitek’s consolidated order book has expanded to Rs102,428 million. Of this, Rs77,792 million stems from its Energy segment—covering solar EPC, standalone BESS, solar-plus-storage, and balance-of-system projects—while Rs24,637 million comes from its Telecom segment, including tower EPC, O&M services, and telecom power equipment supply.
Project Scope and Structure
The contract entails the installation of a 250 MWAC solar photovoltaic plant combined with a 250 MW / 1,100 MWh battery energy storage system. Awarded under a tariff-based competitive bidding process (Tranche I), the project is designed to deliver dispatchable peak-hour power and enhance grid efficiency in Karnataka.
The Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) has approved an interim tariff of Rs5.51 per unit for the project, along with Viability Gap Funding (VGF) support.
The solar-plus-storage facility will be located in Annadanapura and Reddyvarahalli villages in Pavagada Taluk, Tumkuru district. Power evacuation will be carried out through the existing KSPDCL Pooling 220/66 kV Substation No. 6. The project is expected to achieve commercial operations within 18 months of signing the power purchase agreement and will operate over a 25-year lifecycle.
Strengthening Storage Portfolio
Commenting on the order, Venugopal Rao Maddisetty, Chairman and Managing Director of Pace Digitek, stated that the award underscores the company’s expanding expertise in delivering large-scale integrated renewable energy and storage projects. With the addition of 1.1 GWh of storage capacity, the company’s total BESS order book now exceeds 5 GWh, strengthening its ability to supply reliable peak-hour power aligned with Karnataka’s grid stability goals.
He also confirmed that the project will incorporate at least 20 percent local content, including the deployment of the company’s indigenously developed Energy Management System software. This aligns with the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and efforts to promote domestic capabilities in advanced battery technologies.
Expansion Plans
Alongside its subsidiary, Lineage Power Pvt. Ltd., Pace Digitek continues to scale its presence in the renewable energy and digital infrastructure sectors, contributing to India’s broader clean energy transition.
The company aims to complete project execution within the stipulated 18-month timeframe, reinforcing its position in the fast-growing solar-plus-storage market.
