Premier Energies to Build Large Integrated Solar Manufacturing Hub in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh
Nov 14, 2025
Premier Energies, one of India’s leading solar manufacturing firms, is set to develop a major fully integrated solar production complex at the Naidupeta Industrial Park in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. Valued at INR 5,942 crore, the project stands as one of the state’s most significant clean-energy investments and is projected to create around 3,500 direct jobs, along with substantial indirect employment through supporting industries.
The announcement was shared by Nara Lokesh, Minister for IT, who posted the update on his official X handle, calling the project a strong reflection of Andhra Pradesh’s “clarity, speed, and investor-first governance.” Discussions with Premier Energies began in October 2024, as the company sought a location capable of supporting deep upstream integration—from ingot and wafer production to advanced solar cell manufacturing—strengthening India’s expanding solar value chain.
By February 2025, the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) had expedited the allocation of 269 acres, including 169.71 acres formally approved and another 100 acres cleared in principle. Robust trunk infrastructure and seamless port connectivity were key factors that enabled Premier Energies to consolidate its operations at a single, scalable industrial site.
The upcoming manufacturing hub will include a 4 GW TOPCon solar cell line and a 5 GW silicon ingot and wafer plant, making it one of the largest backward-integrated solar facilities in the country. Co-locating these units is expected to streamline manufacturing processes, cut logistics costs, and enhance the company’s competitiveness in both domestic and global markets. A phased expansion to 7 GW is also planned to cater to increasing renewable energy demand.
Lokesh highlighted Naidupeta’s strategic strengths—reliable infrastructure, industrial-friendly environment, skilled workforce, and proximity to ports—as key enablers for high-value solar manufacturing. He emphasized that Andhra Pradesh’s port-led industrial strategy reduces execution risks and fast-tracks large-scale clean energy projects.
“The Premier Energies journey in Andhra Pradesh is about bringing speed with substance,” Lokesh said. “From the beginning, we aligned on scale, logistics, and timelines—and delivered. This is how Andhra Pradesh will lead India’s clean energy manufacturing space: by rapidly turning vision into infrastructure.”
The state government is actively shaping a renewable energy manufacturing corridor to bolster India’s solar export capabilities and attract investments in cutting-edge photovoltaic technologies. Lokesh reiterated the government’s commitment to investor-friendly policies, competitive incentives, and transparent project facilitation to position Andhra Pradesh as a preferred hub for green manufacturing.
