Shakti Pumps (India) Ltd. has secured a work order valued at approximately Rs 71.25 crore, inclusive of GST, from Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (MPUVNL) for the deployment of 2,033 stand-alone, off-grid DC solar photovoltaic water pumping systems across the state of Madhya Pradesh.

The contract has been awarded under Component-B of the PM-KUSUM scheme, a flagship initiative of the central government designed to promote the adoption of solar-powered irrigation solutions while reducing farmers’ reliance on conventional grid electricity and diesel-based pumps.

According to the company’s regulatory disclosure, Shakti Pumps will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of the project. This includes the design, manufacturing, supply, transportation, installation, testing, and commissioning of the solar pumping systems. The entire project is slated for completion within a 120-day execution period.

The latest order is expected to further enhance Shakti Pumps’ footprint in government-backed solar irrigation programmes and contribute to India’s wider objectives of expanding renewable energy usage and promoting sustainable agricultural practices under the PM-KUSUM framework.
