SJVN Green Energy Commissions Additional 100 MW at 1 GW Bikaner Solar Project

Dec 15, 2025

SJVN Ltd., through its wholly owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Ltd. (SGEL), has successfully commissioned an additional 100.56 MW of capacity at its 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project in Rajasthan.

With this latest addition, the project’s total operational capacity has reached 830.70 MW. The company stated in a regulatory filing that the remaining capacity is expected to be brought online in the near future.

Once the project is fully commissioned, the solar power generated will be supplied to the states of Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, and Uttarakhand, as outlined in an earlier disclosure by the company.

The Bikaner solar project is located in Bikaner district of Rajasthan and is being developed under the Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) Scheme Phase-II, Tranche-III of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). The project is being executed under the Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) mode, providing a boost to the government’s Make in India initiative and supporting the growth of India’s domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem.

According to the company, the 1,000 MW project is expected to play a meaningful role in supporting India’s ambition of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030. It also aligns with SJVN’s long-term vision of scaling its installed capacity to 25,000 MW by 2030 and 50,000 MW by 2040.
