Sungrow Launches Next-Generation Inverters and Energy Storage Systems at REI 2025

Sungrow, a global leader in photovoltaic (PV) inverter and energy storage solutions, unveiled its latest range of innovative technologies at the Renewable Energy India (REI) Expo 2025 in Greater Noida.

The new portfolio includes the PowerStack 255CS Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) for commercial and industrial (C&I) applications, the MG5/6RL Hybrid Inverter + MGL060 Battery for residential PV and energy storage systems, and the S2500S-L Microinverter designed for high-efficiency home installations.

According to Sunil Badesra, Country Manager, Sungrow India, these launches reaffirm the company’s mission to provide advanced, reliable, and adaptable energy solutions tailored to India’s fast-evolving renewable landscape.

PowerStack 255CS: Smart, Integrated, and Efficient

The PowerStack 255CS is an integrated energy storage solution for the C&I market, equipped with 314Ah battery cells and a 257 kWh capacity in a 2-hour system. Pre-installed and pre-commissioned, it significantly reduces installation time and costs.

Its AI-driven thermal balance system cuts daily heat loss by 33%, improving efficiency, while liquid-cooled heat dissipation maintains battery temperature variations within ?2.5°C for stable performance.

Safety remains central to its design, featuring a three-tier fire protection system, thermal runaway early warning, and multi-level overcurrent protection across PACK, RACK, and PCS layers. The unit supports grid-tied, off-grid, and automatic switching operations, with scalability up to 25 units per grid-tied setup.

MG5/6RL Hybrid Inverter + MGL060 Battery: Reliable Power for Homes

The MG5/6RL Hybrid Inverter, paired with the MGL060 Battery, is engineered to deliver peak residential performance. It supports 20A current inputs, offers a wide MPPT range, and integrates patented PID protection for maximum energy yield.

The system operates without power derating up to 45°C, features 4ms seamless backup switching, and allows parallel operation of up to 8 inverters and 16 batteries, ensuring uninterrupted power even during grid fluctuations.

The MGL060 battery, rated at 314Ah, includes IP65 waterproofing and C5-M corrosion resistance for a lifespan of up to 15 years. It’s designed for flexibility—compatible with both new and retrofit systems, as well as diesel generator hybrids.

S2500S-L Microinverter: Compact Yet Powerful

Designed for residential rooftops, the S2500S-L Microinverter delivers 2.5 kW nominal power with four independent MPPTs and 18A operating current. Built for durability, it maintains full power output at 45°C and reliable performance up to 80°C — ideal for India’s harsh summer conditions.

The microinverter features one-click configuration, plug-and-play installation, and supports both AC and DC wiring. With rapid shutdown compliance (IEC 63027) and a low DC input voltage, it sets a new standard in safety and convenience for residential inverter systems.
