TDK Corporation Plans Rs 4,000 Crore BESS Investment in Haryana
Mar 24, 2026
Proposed battery storage facility to strengthen energy infrastructure and boost industrial growth. TDK Corporation has announced plans to invest around Rs 4,000 crore in setting up a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facility in Haryana, marking a significant step toward strengthening India’s energy storage capabilities.
The announcement was made during the Bharat Electricity Summit 2026, where a delegation from TDK met with Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Union Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to discuss the proposed investment.
The project is expected to support grid stability and enhance the integration of renewable energy by enabling efficient storage and supply of electricity. Battery energy storage systems play a crucial role in balancing supply and demand, particularly as renewable energy capacity continues to expand.
The Haryana government’s proactive industrial policies and investor-friendly environment have been key factors in attracting such large-scale investments. Recent policy measures have focused on providing incentives, improving infrastructure, and addressing industry concerns related to logistics, production costs, and regulatory processes.
State authorities have also been actively engaging with industry stakeholders to streamline operations and strengthen supply chains, particularly for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). These efforts have helped boost investor confidence and support the growth of both large enterprises and small and medium businesses.
Senior representatives from TDK, along with key government officials and advisors, were present during the discussions, highlighting the strategic importance of the proposed project.
Overall, the planned investment reflects growing interest from global companies in India’s energy storage sector, as the country continues to build a more resilient and sustainable power ecosystem.
