Vedanta Limited has fully operationalized its 1,000 MW Meenakshi Energy thermal power plant in Andhra Pradesh, comprising two 350 MW and two 150 MW units. Acquired in 2023, Meenakshi Energy has achieved a successful revival within two years through a structured and accelerated commissioning plan.

The two 150 MW units were stabilized earlier this year, followed by the commissioning of the two 350 MW units in August 2025. With this milestone, Vedanta strengthens its power portfolio and contributes to Indiaโ€™s energy security by ensuring reliable and sustainable supply.

Rajinder Singh Ahuja, CEO โ€“ Power, Vedanta Ltd., emphasized that thermal projects continue to be the backbone of Indiaโ€™s energy security, and the revival of Meenakshi Energy reflects Vedantaโ€™s commitment to meeting the nationโ€™s rising energy demand efficiently.
