Vikram Solar Shifts Entire Module Lineup to G12R Platform to Drive High-Efficiency Manufacturing

Jan 17, 2026

Vikram Solar, a photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturer, has announced a company-wide transition to a fully G12R-based solar module portfolio, aligning its product strategy with the global shift toward large-format wafers, high-efficiency N-type technologies, and bifacial module designs.

The move marks a transition from individual product-level innovation to portfolio-wide standardisation, with Vikram Solar consolidating its offerings around the Hypersol G12R platform. This strategic realignment is intended to enhance performance consistency, scalability, and long-term reliability, which are increasingly prioritised by developers, EPC contractors, and financiers.

The G12R-based Hypersol platform has become central to Vikram Solar’s growth roadmap, enabling the company to define a unified direction for high-efficiency, large-format solar manufacturing in India. By standardising on a single advanced technology platform, Vikram Solar aims to improve manufacturing efficiency while delivering predictable performance at scale.

Commenting on the development, Gyanesh Chaudhary, Chairman and Managing Director of Vikram Solar, said the solar manufacturing sector has reached a stage where technological clarity and execution capability are as critical as scale. He added that the full transition to the G12R portfolio reflects the company’s commitment to performance leadership, consistency, and future-ready innovation, positioning India as a global hub for advanced solar manufacturing.

Vikram Solar has expanded its module manufacturing capacity to 9.5 GW, placing it among India’s largest solar module producers. The company operates three advanced manufacturing facilities across West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, providing a strong foundation to implement portfolio-wide standardisation while maintaining high quality and operational reliability.

The G12R product range, which includes the Hypersol G12R (132 half-cell series) and Hypersol Pro G12R, offers power outputs of up to 640 Wp and module efficiencies of up to 23.69%. The rectangular large-format design allows container utilisation of up to 98.5%, reducing logistics costs and improving overall project economics. The Hypersol Pro variant also features unidirectional current flow, eliminating reverse current and minimising power losses.

To address diverse installation needs, the Hypersol G12R platform is also available in 96- and 108-half-cell configurations, enabling high-efficiency deployment in residential and commercial rooftop applications where space optimisation is essential. The modules comply with IEC, UL, and BIS standards, supporting deployment across major markets including India, the United States, Europe, and Australia.

Vikram Solar will implement the transition through a phased rollout to ensure continuity for existing customer commitments. The company is working closely with suppliers, partners, and customers to ensure a smooth transition while optimising manufacturing yields and quality assurance processes across its facilities.
