Dec 30, 2025

Vikran Engineering has secured a major contract from NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) for the execution of Balance of System (BoS) EPC works for a 400 MW (AC) grid-connected solar power project located at Chitrakoot-1 in Uttar Pradesh. The contract is valued at Rs 459.20 crore.

The company confirmed the receipt of the Notification of Award (NoA) in an official statement, noting that the project is scheduled to be completed within a 12-month timeframe.

Under the scope of the contract, Vikran Engineering will be responsible for comprehensive BoS activities, including inland logistics, insurance coverage, installation, testing, commissioning, and performance guarantee testing, ensuring the project is delivered in a fully operational condition. Execution will be carried out in accordance with NTPC REL’s prescribed technical standards, quality benchmarks, and safety protocols.

Rakesh Markhedkar, Chairman and Managing Director of Vikran Engineering, described the order as a significant validation of the company’s EPC capabilities in the renewable energy space. He stated that the project aligns with Vikran’s strategic objective of expanding its presence in utility-scale solar infrastructure while supporting India’s broader clean energy transition.

The new order also marks an important milestone in Vikran Engineering’s diversification efforts. Alongside its growing footprint in the solar EPC segment, the company maintains an established presence across power transmission and distribution, water infrastructure, and railway electrification, further strengthening its credentials as a multi-sector EPC player.
