Voltsun Labs to Develop 2 GW Solar Cell and Module Manufacturing Plant in Andhra Pradesh

Nov 19, 2025

The Andhra Pradesh government has granted approval for Voltsun Labs—part of the Ravi Jaipuria–led RJ Corp—to establish an integrated 2 GW solar cell and module manufacturing facility at the Naidupeta MPSEZ in Tirupati district. The project represents an investment of approximately Rs1,743 crore, marking RJ Corp’s entry into advanced solar manufacturing.

RJ Corp is a globally recognized conglomerate known for its leadership in food and beverage, retail, dairy, healthcare, education, hospitality, and real estate. The group is PepsiCo’s largest bottling partner worldwide and manages well-known brands such as KFC, Pizza Hut, Costa Coffee, and Jersey Dairy.

To accelerate project execution, the Andhra Pradesh government has allocated 37 acres of land at concessional rates, reaffirming the state’s ambition to become a leading clean-technology manufacturing destination. The Group’s decision to expand into high-end solar manufacturing underscores confidence in India’s renewable energy growth and the state’s strong governance framework.

Voltsun’s upcoming plant will feature a fully integrated 2 GW production ecosystem, developed in two phases—each comprising 1 GW of solar cell capacity and 1 GW of module capacity, utilizing TOPCon mono and bifacial technologies. The facility is expected to generate 415 direct jobs, with the state providing key external infrastructure, including 40 MW of power supply, 3 MLD of water, and support for setting up a captive solar unit.

The State Investment Promotion Board has cleared a package of customized incentives under the AP Industrial Development Policy 2024–29 to ensure a smooth rollout of the project.

RJ Corp’s entry into the sector marks a major milestone in Andhra Pradesh’s evolving position as a national hub for clean-energy manufacturing, complementing its growing base of module producers, pumped-storage developers, and green hydrogen initiatives.

The government has instructed APIIC, the Industries Department, and other relevant agencies to fast-track approvals and streamline implementation through the Single Desk Portal 2.0, reinforcing Andhra Pradesh’s reputation as an investor-friendly state.
